Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden

August 13, 2026

When I look at the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden, I see more than just the beautiful plants that have been collected and grown here. I see the people who made this garden possible—the staff, the volunteers, members, and everyone whose passion and dedication brought this place to life.

RSBG was founded by amateur gardeners who fell in love with rhododendrons and wanted to collect, preserve, and share as many of the original species as possible. What exists here today is truly a labor of love, built through the commitment of individuals who care deeply about these remarkable plants.

Today, the garden continues to thrive because of members and supporters who share that same passion. Together, they have created an organization that has endured for more than 60 years.

When I walk through the garden beneath these beautiful trees, I don’t just see plants; I see the power of people working together toward a common purpose. I see generations of individuals dedicated to conserving and protecting these extraordinary species for the future.

It is because of these people that this garden exists.

In my role as Executive Director of Business Operations, my responsibility is to help ensure that this beautiful garden and the organization that sustains it remain strong and continue to exist for generations to come.
