Native Garden Botanicals

In my art practice, I use photography to bring ideas forward by screen printing imagery onto porcelain clay. I am interested in how a printed line looks glazed and fired as it creates an indelible, flowing surface. I photograph plants in native gardens with fine detail and complex structures, to combine and collage. I find my influences in nineteenth century botanical illustrators and photographers, Anna Atkins and Karl Blossfeldt, their works are a true depiction of the natural world.
