Waterfront Seattle

Waterfront Seattle is a once-in-a-generation opportunity when the community’s values, vision and investments align to achieve lasting economic, social and environmental value—now, and for the benefit of future generations. Friends of Waterfront Seattle is the nonprofit partner to the City of Seattle, helping to execute, steward, and program this park, designed by James Corner Field Operations.

Their mission is to build awareness, fundraise, and lead strategies that support the long-term health of the park, all with the goal to ensure that the waterfront is beautiful, vibrant, and welcoming to all. Visit them at:

More of a park than a garden, there will be a wide waterfront promenade flanked by trees sporting magnificent views of the sound all along the way. It will be the place to go for festivals, concerts, yoga and tai chi classes, even ice skating in winter. Similar to the great waterfront parks in Europe, there will be plenty of places to shop and dine along the promenade.

Ciscoe Morris, author, speaker

As a Californian, I am constantly amazed at what a little water can do for a garden. The Puget Sound area is a constant draw for me, with the broad range of its gardens and the diversity of their plant collections.
