Seattle Sensory Garden

The Seattle Sensory Garden is an inclusive garden designed for people of all ages and abilities to experience nature through their senses in therapeutic, educational and life enhancing ways; offering the opportunity to learn how people with different abilities experience the world. The garden is filled with natural and constructed elements that create opportunities for people to engage and explore the five traditional senses: touch, sight, sound, smell and taste, as well as through movement and proprioception.

Nestled in the corner of the Woodland Park Zoo Rose Garden is a hidden treasure known as the Seattle Sensory Garden. I never miss a chance to visit the Sensory Garden on my neighborhood walks. The garden is ever-changing with the seasons and a delight for people of all ages. It engages with visitors via unusual, colorful, fragrant plantings, calming and unusual sound features, and is a pleasant setting for a picnic, stroll, and garden exploration.
