Old Goat Farm

Old Goat Farm is now closed.

Please enjoy the photos and memories of a treasured garden.

Old Goat Farm was a display garden and a specialty nursery. We combined our passion for plants and animals on this three-acre property. The display garden near the house is about one acre with both sun and shade borders. The back acre is a woodland walk of native plants and a small fern garden. In between is an acre pasture which is home to six goats, a donkey and about 120 domestic, free range birds. All are rescue animals. We try and provide a sanctuary for other peoples unwanted animals to live out their days in peace. The nursery is a result of our passion for plants and propagation, the proceeds which funds our animals rescue efforts.

After working many years with Greg at the Miller Garden I knew he would not keep idle in retirement. Old Goat Farm is a horticultural haven in the south end. The garden is filled with treasures collected over the years tucked into lush and bountiful flowing beds peppered with chickens, ducks, peacocks, a few goats and one lone donkey!

Old Goat Farm is a must visit for gardeners. Gary and Greg are delightful hosts and knowledgeable horticulturists. The grounds provide inspiration at every turn. My favorite parts of the property are the woodland trails and the stumpery, and  of course, the menagerie. Old Goat Farm's Holiday Teas are legendary and sell out every year, raising funds for local service organizations.

Old Goat Farm is a gardener's gem that families will love as well. Innovative garden rooms, a charming farmhouse, a barn shop full of treasures, and fabulous fowl of all kinds from turkeys to magnificent white peacocks. And, of course, friendly goats!
