Kruckeberg Botanic Garden Foundation

March 6, 2024

As the Executive Director of the Kruckeberg Botanic Garden Foundation, I have the privilege of overseeing educational programs, a plant nursery, and a delightfully whimsical woodland garden with over 2,000 native and rare plants. With my background in horticulture and my interest in promoting human flourishing, I have a deep appreciation for the health and well-being benefits that public gardens offer. My goal at Kruckeberg is to create a space where visitors of all ages have positive experiences in the outdoors, whether it is through the “ah-ha” moments of learning about the interconnectivity of life on Earth, through feeling awe for the natural systems and forces that animate the seasons, or through exercise and socializing with friends. I feel lucky to work with such a dedicated team of educators, horticulturists, and volunteers and I look forward to continuing to improve the accessibility and recognition of Kruckeberg in the years to come.

For me, the garden is a reminder that even as all things change, and will never stop changing, there are so many unexpected opportunities to create and appreciate beauty. Gardens are all about interacting with and confronting beauty.
